Blyth Diary began simply enough as the record of a period of recovery and re-discovery (of self) that accompanied a lengthy rehabilitation from extensive heart surgery. It was a life - changing time which involved walking by the Sea in two locations that were to become very special to me. The Diary rapidly evolved into a complex, interwoven, ever-evolving and changing narrative identified by five distinct but interrelated titles. Each is tidally locked to one theme, that of the Sea.

Blyth Diary is neither a collection of memories nor a Book of Remembrance. It is a living, breathing chronology of the people and places that coalesce in a place of personal importance and a metaphor for life's journey; A journey that begins and ends - as all life does - with the Sea.
